Creating healthy habits with children and their families. Healthy Weight and Your Child is an evidence-based program for children who fall in the greater than 95% range. The family-based weight-management program focuses on nutrition education and physical activity to encourage healthier eating habits and an active lifestyle to reach a healthy weight.
Families registered for this program will work with trained leaders. During this time, children and an adult caregiver will learn about topics, including:
- Healthy eating
- Physical activity
- Portion control
- Internal and external triggers
- Food label reading
- Goal setting and rewards
