REOPENING INFORMATION

The YMCA of Youngstown plans on reopening the Central YMCA and the Davis Family YMCA on June 1, 2020 in a phased approach.

We have delivered a copy of our reopening plans to Erin Bishop, City of Youngstown Health Commissioner, and Ryan Tekac, Health Commissioner for the Mahoning County Board of Health, to review so we can reopen safely. Both departments will have a team visiting our facilities this week. We will reopen in accordance with the State of Ohio and Local Health Department’s safety protocols and guidelines. The health and wellbeing of our members and staff are our number one priority.

Phase One welcomes back our staff and members to our facilities under the new COVID-19 restrictions. We will provide further communication with the details of the reopening plan after it is approved by our local health departments.

The Governor announced today that fitness facilities in Ohio have been authorized to open as early as May 26, 2020. Currently all YMCA of Youngstown YMCA facilities remain closed in order to protect the safety of our members and our community. We are carefully considering every aspect of our operations in order to determine when and how we can reopen our Y facilities as soon as possible while ensuring your safety. We promise to stay in touch and communicate those plans with you well in advance of our reopening. We appreciate your patience. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

The Y is so much more than a gym, we are a connected community and service organization. And now more than ever before, we feel the weight of our responsibility to our communities, the children, families and seniors we serve, and to you. Together we will face these difficult challenges. God Bless You and your families.
